A young Bridgnorth swimmer has been given a special tour of the 2012 Olympic Games venues in London.
Jacob Laybourne, who swims for Northgate, is a pupil at the Bridgnorth Endowed School. The 16-year-old is also a ‘champion ambassador’ for the Sainsbury’s UK School Games 2010, after his success at the event last year.
And along with seven other ambassadors, Jacob was given a tour of the Olympic venues with former Minister of Sport, Richard Caborn.
Jacob, who won two gold medals in the pool at the School Games in 2009 in South Wales, said he was impressed with the facilities. This year he will be supporting the athletes in Gateshead at the competition in September.
