RESIDENTS from the Bridgnorth, Worfield, Alveley and Claverley area will have an opportunity to hear the latest on the business plans for the proposed refurbishment and then reopening of Bridgnorth Hospital operating theatre at their meeting of the Local Joint Committee next week.
The next meeting of the committee, which covers Alveley and Romsley, Astley Abbotts, Badger, Beckbury, Bridgnorth, Claverley, Kemberton, Quatt Malvern, Ryton and Grindle, Stockton, Sutton Maddock, Tasley and Worfield and Rudge, will be held at Alveley Village Hall on Wednesday (7pm).
Following on from a request made at the last meeting, a representative from the Road Safety Partnership will be attending the meeting to talk about the enforcement of village speed limits and the remit of the Road Safety Partnership.
Kaleidoscope Theatre will also be attending the meeting to showcase their skills with a short performance using the new sound system that they bought with their recent LJC grant.
Councillor Christian Lea, Chairman of the LJC said: “This should be a very interesting and beneficial meeting for the local community.
“I hope anyone with an interest in the plans for the reopening of Bridgnorth Operating Theatre or road safety will attend to find out more.
“I encourage local people to come along to the meeting and ask any questions on issues that are of concern to them.
“We will be awarding grants to local groups and organisations from the budget of £71,000 that the committee holds and there will be an opportunity for people to suggest future agenda items.”
