Bomber comes down to earth

AN Alveley couple will have an extra special treat for people who visit their open garden on July 16 and 17.

For Derek and Gloria Leek have just had the cockpit of a B2-WF911 Canberra bomber lowered into their back garden.

Derek said the plane looked magnificent in the garden and hoped it would be a nice feature for people to look at, as part of the Alveley Open Gardens, which raises money for the Midland Air Ambulance and Kidderminster Hospital.

The B2 was produced by the English Electric Company, in Preston, as part of a contract for 130 aircraft in March 1949.
