Daleks and stormtroopers from a galaxy far, far away invaded Barrow Primary School for the day to help celebrate its 392nd birthday.
The sci-fi themed event, which took place on Saturday, attracted scores of visitors – many who turned up in fancy dress.
A David Tennant look-a-like, dressed as Dr Who, posed for photographs with a dalek, and members of the 501st Garrison stormtroopers group – who describe themselves as the foremost Star Wars costuming group in the UK – entertained the crowds.
Greg Day, of the school’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA), said the day had been a great success.
“It was really a great day. A lot of the kids dressed up as their favourite characters and had a lot of fun,” said Greg. “We also raised hundreds of pounds for the PTFA.”
