HUNDREDS of people are expected to swarm on to Severn Park tomorrow for the town’s oldest annual sporting event – the rowing club regatta.
More than 100 entries will be involved in a series of races from 9am until about 5.30pm.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather,” said entries organiser Roger Payne. “A lot of people come to the park not knowing the regatta is on and get interested and enjoy a nice day out,” he added.
Clubs from Swansea, Northwich, Evesham, Worcester and Ironbridge will be among those competing. The clubhouse will be open throughout the day with a licensed bar and there will be a tombola and sideshows.
