SEASON tickets for car parking at Bridgnorth are expected to rise from April 1. Shropshire Council – which has already voted in favour of increased daily charges – was expected to give the go-ahead to the increased fees when it met yesterday (February 25).
Season tickets for the Listley Street car parks are set to be introduced for the first time. Recommended figures for those parking five days a week from Mondays to Fridays are £114 for a six-month period and £207 for a year. Parking for a full seven days is £272 for six months and £495 for a year.
Other car parks affected are the Smithfield, Innage Lane and Severn Street at Bridgnorth and St Mary’s Lane, New Road and Back Lane car parks in Much Wenlock.
Proposed season ticket increases for these car parks are as follows:-
Smithfield – Five days from Mondays to Fridays: £5.50 a week (currently £2.50), £22 a month (£20), £112 for six months (£110) and £203 for a year (£180). Seven days a week: £13 a week (£12), £53 a month (£40), £267 for six months (£220) and £486 a year (£430).
Innage Lane and Severn Street – Five days from Mondays to Fridays: £76 for six months (£70) and £138 for a year (£120). Seven days a week: £127 for six months (£110) and £230 a year (£200).
Lorries, trailers and public service vehicles at Innage Lane and Severn Street – £4 up to two hours (£3.40), £7 up to four hours (£5.80), £14 up to 24 hours (£12), five days from Mondays to Fridays, £506 for six months (£550) and £920 for a year (£800).
Much Wenlock: St Mary’s Lane – Five days from Mondays to Fridays: £152 for six months (£145) and £276 for a year (£240). Seven days a week: £196 for six months (£190) and £357 for a year (£310). New Road – Five days from Mondays to Fridays: £152 (£130) for six months and £276 for a year (£220). Seven days a week: £196 for six months (£170) and £357 for a year (£280). Back Lane – Six months £158 (£150) and £288 for a year (£250). Residents’-only off street car parking charges are also set to go up in Bridgnorth at Friar Street, Railway Street, Severn Street and part of the Riverside.
