Blooming good fundraiser

snowdropsENTHUSIASTIC boys and girls from Moffats Preparatory School at Kinlet are thinning out and selling single potted snowdrops to raise cash for the repair of a historic window at St John the Baptist Church. A substantial amount of cash is needed to make good the deteriorating framework of the east window at Kinlet Church.

snowdrops2.jpg“PCC members looked to the church snowdrops for the answer,” said curate and Moffats School headmaster Rev Mark Daborn. “The blanket of the delicate flowers were due to be thinned out to sustain their growth over the coming years, so it was agreed that single potted snowdrops would be sold for £1 per pot.”

The Kinlet snowdrops are available from the school, the Eagle & Serpent pub, Heath Farm Meats, Kinlet Family Playgroup and from organiser Rosalie Thomas in Button Bridge Lane on (01299) 841234.
