STAFF and pupils at Worfield CE Primary School are seeing double four times over. For the school’s reception class now has an incredible four sets of twins!
Evie and Theo Tanswell, aged five, started lessons at the start of the autumn term last September. And now they have been joined by three more sets of twins – Faith and Grace Elston, five, from Hilton; Kyan and Taylor Bennett, and Poppy and Freddy Taylor-Mason, all aged four and from Bridgnorth.
Headteacher Claire Gaskin said although the teachers were initially sometimes baffled, the more they got to know the children the more ways they found to tell them apart.
“Starting school can be one of the most nerve-wracking times of any child’s life, but for six of the children who began in our reception class in January, those first-day nerves were eased by the knowledge that they at least had one well-known face to turn to,” said Mrs Gaskin.
“Having said that, they are different personalities and they have also made different friends. The golden rule, of course, is to treat them as the individuals they are, even if they do look alike.”
