Vital backing for race ace

A Highley teenage race ace will be looking forward to improving on a great first season in motorbike racing after gaining new sponsorship.

Louis Dawson will be competing in his first full season during 2010 through the Thundersport Aprilia Superteens and the Wirral Hundred Formula 125 Series.

And he’ll be wearing top of the range leathers, boots, helmet, gloves and chains throughout thanks to sponsors Tran-Am. Louis’ mum Dawn said his entry fees and tyres were also being covered, which came as a huge bonus.

“We’re very pleased to have been able to secure such fantastic sponsors for Louis, for this his first full year of competition,” she said. “We’re hoping to start the season off with some sunshine in Spain for some pre-season practise but if not it all kicks off at the first Superteens race at Mallory Park on March 13 and 14. Let’s hope the snow’s all gone by then!”

Tran-Am, based in New Milton, Hampshire and is a supplier of all motorcycle clothing and accessories, some of which we are sold in Louis’ parenet’s Ducati Store, in Wolverhampton. FUCHS Lubricants is providing all of the lubricants that Louis will need during 2010, along with some financial backing.

Louis has also obtained finances from Geoff Hutchinson, a bike enthusiast from Tenbury Wells, who says he is very excited to be involved with team and is looking forward to joining the Highley racer at some of his meetings.

With this new financial backing Louis has been able to order a second Aprilia RS125 for the season, which can be set-up for wet weather racing.

This will give the benefit of a quick changeover of bike during a weekend’s race meeting – should the weather take a turn for the worst, as is quite often the case when racing in the UK.
