A girl trio who have been dubbed ‘the new Spice Girls’ will celebrate the release of their debut major label single with a gig in Bridgnorth.
The Dolly Rockers will play Bridgnorth’s Party In The Park on August 22, at Severn Park, just one week before the release of their single Gold Digger.
The band have earned rave reviews from Radio 1, The Times and News Of The World, with all tipping them for major success.
They will appear at Party In The Park alongside other bands and there will also be jousting, a traditional funfair, attractions, stalls and much more.
Band member Lucie Kay said she was looking forward to the gig. “We love playing live and we hope lots of fans will come along to see the show.”
The Dolly Rockers first became known when they competed in UK-talent show The X-Factor in 2006. They failed to reach the final and are now trying to put the experience behind them.
But earlier this year they received an unexpected amount of airplay with one of their songs and became instant celebrities, receiving coverage in tabloid newspapers and feuding with other bands.
The band’s album is due to be released at the end of 2009 and the video for Gold Digger was shot on Oxford Street and River Island, in Oxford.
