Police probe man’s death

THE body of a 32-year-old man found at Kingswood Common, near Albrighton on Tuesday has been identified as Peter White, who lived in Spenser Avenue, Perton.

Three men from Wolverhampton aged 21 to 25 were arrested in connection with the death and later released without charge.

Staffordshire Police spokesman Neil Spencer said a post mortem on the body had failed to establish how Mr White died and further tests would be need to be carried out.

“In the meantime officers are keeping an open mind about the circumstances and are treating the death as unexplained,” he said.

“The three men arrested in connection with the enquires have been released from custody and at this stage face no futher police action. Our work at the scene has been completed and the cordon has been lifted.”

One motorist who passed the scene on Tuesday morning, said: “I was driving past the car park to work and noticed that the scenes of crime team was present.

“The area was taped off and the forensic team seemed to be carrying out an investigation.

“The car park is near a pathway which is very popular with dog walkers and the like, so I can imagine it has caused quite a bit of shock in the area.”
