Popular pubs reopen

“We have been made to feel very welcome in the short space of time we’ve been here, so we are really grateful for that,” she said. “The place is looking lovely with hanging baskets outside and we encourage more people, including families, to come down.

“I’m really looking forward to running the pub, which is in such a beautiful area.”

The pub will be open from 5pm until late Monday to Thursday, and all day Friday to Sunday.

The historic Fox in Low Town has reopened under the new stewardship of Tony Whittingham. He is creating a sports bar theme in response to demands from locals and tourists.

He has started a substantial investment programme to provide the latest TV and satellite entertainment technology as well as a touch-screen music system.

The re-emergence of the Fox has been made possible by pub company London Town, which has reopened 160 pubs in eight months.
