BRIDGNORTH’S newly formed cycling club is continuing to grow with more and more people turning up for their midweek and Sunday rides.
The group, which meets on Tuesday nights and Sundays, has seen a continued rise in numbers and as such Andrew Davies, who helped set up the club, is looking to introduce new features to keep the club moving forward.
“We have decided to put on a steady 25 mile bike ride on Sunday because each week more and more people are turning up,” said Andrew. “There will be two rides of an equal distance, but one will be quicker than the other, so people can decide to join which one they prefer.
“The slower ride will be taken by Bob Reynolds, so anyone interested is asked to meet him Sunday outside Oldbury Wells School, at 10am. We would also like to hear from anyone who may know a cycle route around the town of their own.
“If they would like to share it with us they can contact me and then we’ll take it from there. Although it is still early days we don’t want people to turn up and think they’ll be taking the same route each week.
“The club is moving on very well and we want it to keep going that way. I’ve had people coming up to me to tell me it’s a bout time we had a cycling club in Bridgnorth.”
The club meets on Tuesdays, from 6.30pm, and 10am on Sundays, outside Oldbury Wells School. It was set up to promote a healthy lifestyle and a greater participation in sport around the town.
