A Government inspector has come down in favour of a controversial plan to build four homes at the back of Bridgnorth¹s historic Bishop Percy’s House
Architect Vic Johnson has revealed that an appeal against the former district council’s refusal to allow the river view development has been successful.
Several neighbours had added their concerns about the design of the proposals.
The work will include the demolition of the former Bridgnorth Boys’ Club gymnasium to be replaced with the four two-bedroom units in traditional style
“We are absolutely delighted and would hope that work can start in three to four months time,” said Mr Johnson, managing director of Johnson Design. “It has been a long and hard battle. I am a former Boys’ Club member and have put a lot of personal effort in to this case.”
Mr Johnson added that that consent for work at Bishop Percy’s House for a single home, had already been approved. The house is currently unoccupied.
