THE Down Inn in Bridgnorth has returned to its roots as a resting place for weary travellers and doubled its size to provide overnight accommodation.
Following a major investment, the Ludlow Road pub and restaurant was set to officially launch its high spec nine bedroomed accommodation suite yesterday as the Journal went to press.
Owner Steve Ruffel-Hazel said it had been a long, hard project but the inn was now ready to open its doors to business travellers, tourists, and Christmas over-spills from local families.
“We have been keen to offer great value, but with high quality decor for a relaxing overnight stay”, said Steve.
“I feel that when people visit Shropshire they want a room with a bit of character, and a real homely feel – something we reflect in our food as well, serving regional produce where we can and keeping prices low.
“We read a lot of doom and gloom in the news, but we have had a lot of interest in the rooms as there is a real shortage of quality accommodation in the region at the right price”.
