Town’s superb teamwork

“They carried on where they left off after the second half against Coventry,” he said. “Everyone played well and the dressing room was buzzing – they looked like they were really enjoying their football again.”

The team gelled straight from the start and Town found themselves three goals to the good after just 25 minutes. A push in the box early on saw the referee point to the spot and Gareth Horler stepped up making no mistake.

With 20 minutes played new signing Ravi Sangha found himself in space following a well delivered cross from George Liperis, and finished well. And with just over a quarter of the game played the result was put beyond any doubt.

Sangha turned provider and it was Horler who once again found space to double his tally with a neat side foot finish for his seventh of the season.

The second half was much the same as the first with Town creating chance after chance, but in the end the home side settled for a solid 3-0 win. The result meant Town climbed from ninth to eighth place after again playing two games in four days, despite winning one and losing one, in what appears to be a very tight league.

Town’s next game is at home tomorrow against Oldbury at 3pm.

Coventry Sphinx 2 Town 1

FOLLOWING a number of suspensions and injuries Town’s player-manager Andy Marlowe found himself in goal for this match. Marlowe put in a good performance but still could not stop Town going into half time 2-0 down against second placed Coventry.

It looked as though the visitors would struggle to get a result from the game, but a half time team talk saw Town rally for the second 45 minutes.

It was different team who managed to pull a goal back through Dominic Heath and suddenly Bridgnorth had their tails up. But despite their best efforts, which included having two goals disallowed, Town were unfortunate to go home with nothing.
