“The High Street was throbbing to The Dockers on Sunday when we left for the Olympic flag ceremony in Much Wenlock,” said district council chairman Councillor Ed Shirley.

“After we returned from that very successful event the High Street was still busy at 4-5pm. The Green Show organised by the district council in the street was also very well attended and I understand that the Children’s Festival also went very well,” he added. “I would like to congratulate everyone involved.”

Former council chairman Councillor Les Winwood said everyone should be very grateful to Fest organiser Malcolm Bridges and his committee.

“The High Street was really buzzing,” he said. “The music and the weather was good and the Green Show was a great success as well. The Children’s Festival at Oldbury Wells School was a very happy place to be and we must also be very grateful to Stephen Derges and his committee for putting in so much hard work for making it go so well,” he add.
