What is to be a unique series of paintings capturing the essence of Western talent and culture over the last 50 years will keep the Bridgnorth brothers busy over the next 18 months.

David and Tim Bingham, who first set up studio together in the early 1990s, were approached by an events organiser who has worked with the likes of Kylie and Westlife, with proposals for the project.

With 20, as yet, mystery names in the pipeline, plans for a definitive collection to be exhibited in London and major cities worldwide, and reproduced as limited edition, collectible items, are underway.

A shift in demand for modern contemporary art, funded primarily by young, wealthy professionals means the exhibition of these group and individual portraits of those at the forefront of Western culture, is expected to attract considerable interest.

Tim and David, who have both received a formal art education after being inspired by their artistic father and uncle, work together in a typically renaissance manner so boast a high output ideal for the project awaiting them.

Their contemporary figurartive style of painting has served the brothers well, and won them acclaim as far afield as California where their work has been exhibited.

The last local exhibition of their artwork was in Telford, and the interest it generated has encouraged the brothers to try and organise display in their hometown of Bridgnorth by the end of this year – they are currently on the look out for a suitable venue.

David Bingham, 53, said: “We have never indulged in a lot of self-promotion, but this project could raise our profiles considerably and it would be good to do something locally so people can appreciate what our work is about.

“Our style is fairly traditional and non-elitist, there is no shock value. The work is honest, upbeat and adapted appropriately to suit the subject.”

The Bingham brother’s career highlights include portraits of the screen legend Charlton Heston, cricketer Neal Radford and singer/songwriter Paul Weller.Limited edition prints of the Heston portrait and of Paul Weller have been released this year.

The brothers who concentrate on painting and producing quality, timeless pieces are growing in popularity throughout Europe and currently exploring possibilities in Spain.

They have by no means forgotten their routes though and are currently overseeing the completion of a new studio in Astley Abbots. The Bingham Brother’s work can be seen on their website: www.binghambrothers.org.
