A Bridgnorth toddler who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy is being presented with a specially adapted tricycle today thanks to the generosity of the Lions Club.
Olivia Morris, who is aged two-and-a-half, lives at Birchlands. Her parents, Sharon and Rob, say that the family is working hard to help her with lots of appointments at specialists, but they are desperate for her to walk so that she can gain some independence.
“We are raising money to pay for more therapy and any equipment that she will need to aid her development,” they explained.
“She has recently started horse-riding, as hip therapy, and some extra physiotherapy sessions.”
Olivia is unable to eat or drink orally and is fed through a tube in her tummy. She cannot crawl, walk or talk and only recently has been able to sit up and roll from her front onto her back.
“On the positive side she is a very happy little girl who really wants to walk and communicates through sign language,” said Sharon and Rob.
“She is bright and very determined – it’s her body that lets her down.”
